A Professional Workhorse, Improved
The XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR II Lens from FUJIFILM is the second-generation standard zoom lens designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-Mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 24-84mm equivalent, wide-angle to portrait-length range. Characterized by its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture, this lens's proven ability to perform in difficult lighting conditions and in low depth-of-field situations now features improved resolving power for FUJIFILM's latest 40MP sensors, all with a significant size and weight reduction.
Optical Design
Its optical design comprises aspherical elements, extra-low dispersion elements, and a super extra-low dispersion element, all of which help to reduce distortion and color fringing for improved sharpness and color accuracy throughout the zoom range. A fluorine coating has also been applied to protect the front element by repelling water, oil, and fingerprints.
Three extra-low dispersion elements and a Super ED element are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.
Four aspherical elements control distortion and spherical aberrations, which helps to improve sharpness and realize more accurate rendering.
